About me
My name is Denise Green, I now live in Texas. I have been married to my wonderful husband since 1988. We have 1 son, he is married to a wonderful woman (that loves to quilt) and they have 2 adorable children (I am not partial or anything). In addition to quilting I enjoy working in my flower beds and tending the garden. And of course, playing with my grandchildren. My husband and I have also sponsored children from Boys and Girls Harbor, a group foster home in La Porte, TX since 2001.
I have taken numerous longarm classes from Linda Taylor, Hari Walner and Pam Clarke. These classes have been in Houston, McKinney and at Machine Quilters Showcase. I participate in a group of very talented longarm quilters in the Clearlake area, our main goal being to challenge each other to always improve our techniques and design work.
I have been a member of Lakeview Quilters Guild since 1997, having served as Treasurer, Community Service Chair and 2 terms as President. Our guild has a membership of over 300 and we also hold a bi-annual quilt show which I co-chaired in 2004 and 2006. I am very thankful to our guild members for trusting me with their quilt tops through the years and it has been very rewarding for me to see so many ribbons hanging on their quilts at our shows.
